Suffragette tea party in the Grainger Market
Saturday 8 June 2013 from around 2pm
This year is the 100th anniversary of the death of Emily Davison, who was a suffragette who died trying to attach a sash to the King’s horse whilst it was racing at the Epsom Derby.
Emily Davison came from Northumberland and Beamish Museum are arranging for a ‘poster parade suffragette parade’ along Northumberland Street. The parade will then move to the Grainger Market Arcade where a mock speech will take place.
